Dr. Harold Cox

Dr. Harold Cox is a board-certified endocrinologist with 16 years of clinical experience in general endocrinology and metabolic medicine. He completed his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and internal medicine and endocrinology fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, one of the largest academic endocrinology programmes in the Midwest.

Dr. Cox's clinical scope encompasses the full breadth of endocrine disease, with particular focus on diabetes mellitus, obesity medicine, adrenal disease, and male hypogonadism. In diabetes, he manages both insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetes, with an interest in cardiorenal protective therapies — SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists — and their integration into individualised diabetes management plans that prioritise metabolic, renal, and cardiovascular risk reduction simultaneously.

His adrenal disease expertise includes the evaluation and management of adrenal incidentalomas, primary aldosteronism, Cushing's syndrome, and adrenal insufficiency. He performs inferior petrosal sinus sampling for the differential diagnosis of ACTH-dependent Cushing's syndrome and coordinates multidisciplinary management with neurosurgery for pituitary adenomas and with urology for adrenal surgery. He has a particular interest in the long-term metabolic consequences of glucocorticoid excess.

Dr. Cox has published on the management of bilateral adrenal hyperplasia in primary aldosteronism and on obesity pharmacotherapy outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes. He is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, serving on the latter's adrenal disease task force.
