About Silvaris University Hospital — Boston, MA
Nestled within Boston's Longwood Medical Area — the densest concentration of academic medical institutions in the world — SilverOak University Hospital is a 580-bed teaching hospital and a leading center for translational biomedical research. Founded as a clinical training partner with several of New England's most prestigious medical schools, we train more than 320 resident physicians and 180 clinical fellows each year across virtually every specialty and subspecialty.
Our academic strength is most visible in hematology-oncology, neurosurgery, and solid organ transplantation, where SilverOak Boston consistently achieves outcomes that exceed both regional and national benchmarks. The transplant program — encompassing liver, kidney, heart, and lung — performed 214 procedures in the past fiscal year with a one-year graft survival rate of 94%, placing us in the top decile nationally.
SilverOak University Hospital is home to the Institute for Genomic Medicine, a joint initiative with partner universities that has enrolled more than 18,000 patients in whole-genome sequencing studies since 2019. With access to over 150 open clinical trials at any given time, patients here can access investigational therapies that are simply not available in community hospital settings.
Boston's culture of intellectual rigor permeates every aspect of patient care. Weekly grand rounds, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and peer-reviewed case conferences ensure that every clinical decision reflects the current best evidence. For referring physicians, our e-consult platform provides specialist opinion within 24 hours, and our dedicated transfer center expedites acceptance of complex cases from across New England.
