Dr. Karen Miller

Dr. Karen Miller holds an MD and PhD from Yale School of Medicine, where her doctoral research investigated epigenetic regulation of endometrial receptivity during embryo implantation. She completed obstetrics and gynaecology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a subspecialty fellowship in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, becoming one of the leading gynaecological laparoscopists of her generation.

Dr. Miller's gynaecological practice encompasses the full spectrum of minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted hysterectomy, myomectomy for symptomatic fibroids, endometriosis excision surgery — including radical excision of deep infiltrating endometriosis involving the bowel, bladder, and ureter — and laparoscopic management of ovarian cysts and pelvic organ prolapse. She is a recognised expert in robotic gynaecological surgery and trains surgeons nationally in robotic platform utilisation.

She maintains an active obstetrics practice with a focus on gynaecological cancer prevention and management of cervical disease, and collaborates closely with gynaecological oncology for complex cases. Her research on minimally invasive surgical outcomes in endometriosis and the relationship between endometriosis and infertility has been published in Fertility and Sterility and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr. Miller is a dedicated advocate for women affected by endometriosis, a condition that is often dismissed or misdiagnosed for years before appropriate treatment is offered. She runs a specialist endometriosis clinic that provides a multidisciplinary approach including surgery, pain management, and psychological support. She has been recognised with Yale's Endometriosis Awareness Award and lectures nationally on improving diagnostic pathways for women with pelvic pain.
