Cardiac Surgery at SilverOak Health delivers the full spectrum of open-heart and minimally invasive surgical procedures for structural heart disease, coronary artery disease, and valvular pathology. Our cardiac surgeons are internationally trained with extensive experience in conventional and robotic-assisted techniques, working in close collaboration with interventional cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, and perfusionists in a purpose-designed cardiac surgical programme.

Core procedures include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), aortic and mitral valve repair and replacement, tricuspid valve surgery, combined coronary and valvular procedures, surgery for heart failure including ventricular assist device implantation and cardiac transplant evaluation, repair of congenital defects in adults, and surgery for aortic aneurysms and dissections. Total arterial revascularisation strategies are employed in CABG wherever feasible, maximising long-term graft patency and durability.

Minimally invasive cardiac surgery — including mini-sternotomy and right mini-thoracotomy approaches — is offered for suitable patients undergoing valve surgery, providing equivalent outcomes to conventional sternotomy with smaller incisions, less post-operative pain, reduced blood transfusion requirements, and significantly faster recovery. Our cardiac surgical outcomes including operative mortality, stroke, deep sternal wound infection, and reoperation rates are prospectively collected and transparently benchmarked against national and international standards.
