Our spine surgeons hold dual training in orthopaedic and neurosurgical techniques, enabling a comprehensive surgical armamentarium for complex cases.

Minimally invasive spinal techniques are standard for appropriate cases, including tubular microdiscectomy for lumbar disc herniation, minimally invasive TLIF and PLIF for lumbar fusion, percutaneous pedicle screw fixation, and lateral lumbar interbody fusion through the retroperitoneal approach. These techniques reduce muscle damage, blood loss, post-operative pain, and hospital stay compared to conventional open procedures, while achieving equivalent or superior fusion rates and neurological outcomes. Navigation-guided and robotic-assisted screw placement ensures sub-millimetre implant accuracy.

Complex spinal deformity correction for adult scoliosis, kyphosis, and revision spinal surgery is performed with neuromonitoring and staged planning to minimise neurological and systemic complications in these high-risk procedures. Spinal cord tumour surgery — both intradural-extramedullary and intramedullary — uses intraoperative neurophysiology and ultrasonic aspiration to maximise safe resection. Our spine MDT brings together surgeons, neurologists, pain physicians, and physiotherapists to ensure surgery is recommended only when all conservative options have been appropriately explored and the risk-benefit balance clearly favours operative intervention.
