Dr. Kevin Brown

Dr. Kevin Brown is a board-certified neurologist with a clinical focus on movement disorders and stroke neurology. A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, he completed neurology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a movement disorders fellowship at Emory University, where he gained expertise in the management of Parkinson's disease, atypical Parkinsonian syndromes, and essential tremor, alongside training in deep brain stimulation programming.

Dr. Brown manages a large cohort of patients with Parkinson's disease and related disorders, providing comprehensive care that integrates pharmacological management with physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and neuropsychological support. He is skilled in DBS programming optimisation and collaborates with neurosurgical colleagues in patient selection and long-term device management. He has particular interest in the non-motor manifestations of Parkinson's disease, including cognitive impairment, autonomic dysfunction, and mood disorders.

He also maintains an active stroke neurology practice, participating in the hospital's stroke call rota and contributing to secondary prevention clinic. His dual expertise allows him to manage the neurological complexity of patients with both cerebrovascular and movement disorder diagnoses, a population for whom coordinated care across subspecialties is particularly important.

Dr. Brown has published in Movement Disorders and Neurology on topics including genetic risk factors in Parkinson's disease and DBS programming strategies for axial motor features. He is an advocate for exercise as medicine in Parkinson's disease and co-founded a community-based exercise programme for people with Parkinson's that has enrolled over 200 participants. He regularly provides educational talks to patient support groups and has been recognised by the Parkinson's Foundation for his community engagement work.
