Dr. Lisa Mitchell

Dr. Lisa Mitchell is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in sports medicine and knee surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, followed by a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado — one of the world's foremost centres for knee and shoulder sports surgery, renowned for the care of Olympic and professional athletes.

Dr. Mitchell's surgical practice encompasses knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction using quadriceps tendon and hamstring autograft as well as allograft options, posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, multi-ligament knee reconstruction for complex instability, and cartilage restoration procedures including microfracture, osteochondral autograft transplantation (OATs), and autologous chondrocyte implantation. She performs meniscus preservation surgery — meniscal repair rather than resection wherever possible — to protect long-term knee joint health.

Her shoulder surgery expertise includes arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, labral repair for instability, SLAP repair, and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty for complex rotator cuff tear arthropathy.
