Interventional Cardiology

Interventional Cardiology at SilverOak Health specialises in catheter-based diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, offering minimally invasive alternatives to open cardiac surgery for a wide and expanding range of conditions. Our interventional cardiologists perform both emergency and elective procedures in state-of-the-art catheterisation laboratories equipped with the latest imaging and haemodynamic monitoring technology.

Coronary interventions — including diagnostic angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with drug-eluting stent implantation, intravascular imaging with OCT and IVUS, and physiological assessment with FFR and iFR — are performed for stable coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes including STEMI, for which our primary PCI programme maintains door-to-balloon times consistently within 60 minutes. Rotational atherectomy and orbital atherectomy are available for severely calcified coronary lesions resistant to conventional balloon preparation.

Structural heart interventions represent the fastest-growing component of our programme. TAVR for severe aortic stenosis, MitraClip for functional and degenerative mitral regurgitation, left atrial appendage occlusion for stroke prevention in AF patients unsuitable for anticoagulation, and patent foramen ovale closure for cryptogenic stroke are all performed by our structural heart team. Every structural heart case is evaluated through our multidisciplinary heart team meeting, ensuring the most appropriate treatment — percutaneous, surgical, or medical — is recommended for each patient.
