Psychiatry and Mental Health services at SilverOak Health provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for the full range of psychiatric conditions across adult and older adult populations. Our consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and specialist mental health nurses deliver evidence-based care within a framework that treats mental health conditions with the same rigour, compassion, and therapeutic ambition as any physical illness.
Conditions managed include major depressive disorder, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, anxiety disorders (GAD, panic disorder, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD), eating disorders, personality disorders, ADHD in adults, and psychiatric complications of physical illness and substance misuse. Assessment is comprehensive, integrating psychiatric history, cognitive assessment, neurological review, and relevant investigations to exclude physical causes of psychiatric presentations and identify comorbidities.
Psychological therapies offered include CBT, DBT for borderline personality disorder and treatment-resistant depression, trauma-focused CBT and EMDR for PTSD, acceptance and commitment therapy, and interpersonal therapy. Pharmacological management follows evidence-based prescribing guidelines with careful monitoring of efficacy, tolerability, and metabolic parameters. For treatment-resistant depression, our service offers esketamine (Spravato) nasal spray under supervised clinical administration and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Liaison psychiatry provides embedded psychiatric support to medical and surgical wards, the emergency department, and specialist clinics, ensuring that psychological needs are identified and addressed in all hospital inpatients.
