Dr. Emily Rodriguez

Dr. Emily Rodriguez is a board-certified cardiologist with specialised training in interventional cardiology and preventive heart disease. She holds an MD and Master of Public Health from UCLA School of Medicine and completed fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she focused on structural heart interventions and population-level cardiovascular risk reduction. Her dual clinical and public health background uniquely positions her to address both individual patient care and broader cardiac health disparities.

Clinically, Dr. Rodriguez performs a full range of coronary and structural interventions including percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary physiology assessment (FFR and iFR), and intravascular imaging with IVUS and OCT to guide optimal stent deployment. She has developing expertise in transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve interventions and participates in a multidisciplinary heart team that evaluates every structural case to determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach.

Her research programme, supported by a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute career development award, investigates sex-specific and socioeconomic disparities in access to coronary revascularisation and outcomes following PCI. She has published in JAMA Cardiology and the European Heart Journal, and has been invited to present at the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association scientific sessions.

Dr. Rodriguez is deeply committed to community cardiovascular health, leading outreach programmes that provide blood pressure and cholesterol screening in underserved neighbourhoods. She believes that equitable access to high-quality cardiovascular care is a fundamental right, and integrates this philosophy into her practice by spending time ensuring every patient, regardless of background, understands their condition and treatment plan. She has been recognised with the UCLA Distinguished Alumna Award for her contributions to cardiovascular health equity.
