About
Dr. Jennifer Davis is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who graduated from Duke University School of Medicine and completed cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, followed by an interventional fellowship at Emory University Hospital. In her 12 years of practice, she has developed particular expertise in women's heart disease and coronary microvascular dysfunction, areas that remain substantially underdiagnosed and undertreated in contemporary cardiovascular practice.
Dr. Davis performs a comprehensive range of coronary interventional procedures, including complex PCI, coronary physiological assessment, rotational atherectomy for heavily calcified vessels, and coronary intravascular lithotripsy. She is a proponent of evidence-based vascular access practices and has championed the transition to radial artery access within her department, reducing bleeding complications and improving patient comfort after catheterisation procedures.
Her research interests in ischaemia with no obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) and coronary microvascular dysfunction have resulted in publications in Circulation and JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging. She participates in a national INOCA registry and collaborates with Duke's Women's Heart Program to improve diagnostic pathways and treatment outcomes for this predominantly female patient population.
Dr. Davis values building lasting relationships with her patients and takes particular care in explaining catheterisation procedures and their results using visual aids and plain language. She mentors cardiology fellows in interventional techniques and patient communication, believing that technical excellence and exceptional bedside manner must develop in parallel. She has received Duke's Outstanding Junior Faculty Teaching Award and has been recognised by local patient advocacy groups for her work in women's cardiovascular health education.
