Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Centre
The Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Centre at SilverOak Health offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for individuals and couples experiencing infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, or seeking fertility preservation. Our reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, and fertility nurses combine the most advanced assisted reproductive technology with compassionate, individualised care that acknowledges the profound emotional journey of fertility treatment.
Initial fertility assessment is comprehensive, addressing both partners simultaneously. Female assessment encompasses hormonal profiling (FSH, LH, AMH, oestradiol), antral follicle count, hysterosalpingography or sonohysterography for uterine cavity and tubal evaluation, diagnostic hysteroscopy and laparoscopy when indicated, and thrombophilia and immunological screening for recurrent miscarriage. Male assessment includes full semen analysis with morphology, concentration, and motility, DNA fragmentation testing for unexplained infertility, and hormonal evaluation and andrology review for azoospermia.
Our IVF programme employs individualised ovarian stimulation protocols — GnRH agonist long protocols, antagonist protocols, and progestin-primed variants — adapted to each patient's age, ovarian reserve, and prior treatment response. Time-lapse embryo monitoring in our state-of-the-art embryology laboratory provides continuous assessment of embryo development kinetics without disturbance, informing morphokinetic selection of the highest-quality blastocyst for transfer. Endometrial receptivity testing optimises the window of implantation for personalised frozen embryo transfer timing.
Preimplantation genetic testing — PGT-A for chromosomal aneuploidy screening and PGT-M for single gene disorders — is offered to couples at risk of transmitting heritable conditions or with a history of recurrent implantation failure or miscarriage. Our programme achieves clinical pregnancy rates per embryo transfer consistently above HFEA national benchmarks. Fertility preservation — egg vitrification, embryo freezing, and ovarian tissue cryopreservation — is offered for medical indications including oncology patients facing gonadotoxic treatment and for elective social egg freezing.
Recurrent pregnancy loss investigations follow NICE and ESHRE guidelines, with targeted treatment for identified causes including antiphospholipid syndrome, uterine anomalies, parental chromosomal factors, and thrombophilias. Donor egg, donor sperm, and surrogacy pathways are available for patients who cannot use their own gametes. Holistic psychological support — individual counselling, group therapy, and mindfulness programmes — is integral to our fertility service, recognising the significant emotional burden of infertility and treatment failure on patients and their partners.
