Oncology
The Oncology Centre of Excellence at SilverOak Health delivers comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care across the full spectrum of malignancies — from common cancers to rare and complex tumours. Our oncology team comprises medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, haematologists, and specialist nurses who collaborate within weekly tumour board meetings to develop personalised treatment plans grounded in the latest international evidence.
Molecular tumour profiling using next-generation sequencing is performed for all eligible patients, identifying actionable driver mutations, predictive biomarkers such as PD-L1 expression and tumour mutational burden, and microsatellite instability status. This precision oncology approach guides selection of targeted therapies, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and antibody-drug conjugates, and determines eligibility for clinical trials that offer access to the most promising investigational agents.
Our systemic anticancer therapy day unit administers chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and bispecific antibody regimens in a purpose-designed environment staffed by experienced oncology nurses and clinical pharmacists. Electronic prescribing, pharmacist-led dose verification, and proactive toxicity monitoring minimise medication errors and treatment-related hospital admissions. Anti-emetic protocols, growth factor support, and comprehensive patient education are standard for all patients commencing systemic therapy.
Radiation oncology employs intensity-modulated radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy, and CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery to deliver ablative doses with sub-millimetre precision to tumours while maximising normal tissue sparing. Robotic-assisted cancer surgery using the da Vinci system enables precise oncological resections with complete tumour clearance and superior functional preservation compared to open approaches.
CAR-T cell therapy for relapsed or refractory B-cell malignancies and multiple myeloma, bone marrow transplantation for haematological malignancies, and palliative and supportive care integrated from the point of diagnosis complete our end-to-end cancer care programme. Our survivorship clinic addresses the long-term effects of treatment and supports patients in returning to full health after cancer.
